There are a lot of people with great things to say. Sometimes, though, one has to weed through a lot of minutiae in order to get to blog postings with value, heart and soul. I don't post every day; when I DO post, it is because something has struck me deeply, or I feel I have something important to contribute to you, the reader...

I started out thinking I would chronicle my own artistic highs, lows, new and old techniques and much more. However, now that a little time has passed, I find myself more intrigued with what other artists are doing and in posting about cool art-related people, places, shows, and a variety of opportunities as I come across them. I might also occasionally still interject something of my own work here and there. Join me on this adventure!

Now for the serious stuff:

I hold Master of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Education in Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees. I presently teach art at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, The Galloway School, South East Fiber Arts Alliance, hold private and group classes and workshops in my studio and I travel to teach in arts centers around the country. I exhibit internationally, nationally and locally. I have been featured on the PBS special inCONTEXT, in the books, "Noplaceness: Art in the Post-Urban Landscape" "The Studio Quilt no.6: State of the Art" "Modern Sculpture" "Hand to Hand: 195 Artists Witness the Iraq War" "The Best of America Sculpture Artists and Artisans" and "Quilt National 2009", in FiberArts and Surface Design magazines and in numerous other publications and televised interviews. I recently completed a permanent interactive installation for the Dallas Museum of Art.

My art works involve the continuous exploration and development of the ways in which man-made materials can create an alternate reality. 2D works interject personal storytelling into a broad visual commentary on dysfunctional society and installations intimate the impact of our human behavior on the natural world. Recent works physically involve the viewer, thus drawing them in to create their own story from my vision.
